so i think i'm going to sell one of my cars.

it's my '91 Jaguar XJ40 Sovereign that's going to go. it's a good car, wicked fast, etc., etc., etc.
but it's getting old and losing some of its cachet; no longer a Jaguar, it's an old Jaguar. without the benefit of being a classic Jaguar. in fifteen, twenty years or so, it'll probably be a classic - but that's then.
so i'm going to let it go, i think.
upside: already have a replacement lined up. it needs a little (o.k., a lot) of work - but it's a much better car (for me, anyway).
instead of my US-market LHD '91 XJ40 with 217k miles, i'll be the proud owner of a home-market RHD '67 Jaguar 420G with less than 18k miles in a few months.
yay!
plus, my roof racks will fit. i'll have to install seatbelts, though.

Hey! COOL! You're going to get a REAL Jaguar!!!!!! Not one of those "Made-by-Ford" Jags! Are you going to have to add lead to the gasoline for it? So, important question... what color is it?
Sad about the "old guy" going, though.

Wow. I'd say it's a nice tradeoff!

my Sov is a "real" Jag. the XJ40 project (of which it is a product) began in the '70s under British Leyland. many of the new Jags are "real" Jags as well; the X-Type is the only one that is 100% not Jag. the Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird are more Jaguar than the X-Type.
old car (on the right, duh):
"new" car:
