LOL A message from Ryan
Ryan G wrote:
Stop emailing me for a Universal Binary version of ut2004...my iMac will be
arriving soon, and I'll be finishing up the Intel version from there. So
if everything goes smoothly, you'll have it in a few days.
I love your enthusiasm, but please, stop emailing to ask for preview builds.
The answer is no.
But when it's available, this will be the first place I post news. Soon,
honest.

This is the only reason I am waiting to buy a new iMac. Everything else I run will probably be faster or about the same as my 1.5 ghz 17in PB in Rosetta.

OMG. . . at the main menu my P4 gets 145FPS, my iBook, 65FPS.
OMG. . . on ONS-Torlan, my P4 gets 45-50FPS on Semi-max Detail (I didn't touch the settings), my iBook on Low-detail gets 10-15FPS on the same map.
OMG. . . this is freakin amazing. . . OMG. . .

Re: LOL A message from Ryan
maybe he's a dumbass...why would the UB be any faster on an iBook? And why would anybody expect good FPS on an iBook compared to a P4?

I was just comparing how much faster it was under OS X x86/Pentium 4 vs. OS X PPC/iBook, since UT2004 is SO much more enjoyable now that it runs fast, I find myself playing it MUCH more often.
Thanks, dude.

Oh I get it now. You're running a hacked OS X on a P4?
Sorry for the name calling. Forgive me?

Re: LOL A message from Ryan
Not really. UBs allow both to run native on OSX. Think 'fat binary' from the 68k/PPC transition.

Yes Cee this is good for all of OSX kind. Just happens that this update also includes UBs. So it is truely good for all OSX kind. Based on PS posts he got a speed bump across the board.
