Teams to watch next year:
Miami Dolphins! They should have won the East this year, but choked with their defensive coordinator. With a few upgrades, they should be unstoppable next year!
That's what everyone says every year, but they always choke in December and/or January. It's their nature, and adding a few players isn't going to change that.True enough. What can I say, I am a diehard Fins fan and hope bleeds eternal. I think the Dolphins should keep Norv Turner as their Offensive Coordinator, but Defensive Coordinator Jim Bates and Head Coach Wannstedt need to move on. This is quite possibly the most talented team in the AFC, and yet they have no fire. Only a coaching change and some aggressive rookie talent are likely to bring that. They have six pro-bowl selections, the number one rusher (Ricky Williams), the number one pass rusher (Jason Taylor), The AFC tackle leader (Zach Thomas), and the best cornerback tandem in the league (Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison). The talent is definitely there. They or Denver should have made the playoffs instead of Indy.
Denver Broncos. With a new QB (probably Jake Plummer) they will have more intensity. Portis and Lelee will continue to improve.
Plummer would be a downgrade from Griese. The hot rumor is that the Broncos will take Longhorns' QB Chris Simms (Phil's son) with their 1st round pick if he's available (he will be).
My bet is that Plummer wil end up in Dallas, as Parcells has always thought highly of him (for reasons that are beyond me).I too have heard the Simms rumors. I guess Shanahan likes him. I can't see them starting Simms right away. Here in CO, everyone thinks they will take Plummer. I think either would have more success, if only because Shanahan would support them. Many of Griese's struggles stem from a serious conflict between him and the coach. They don't even talk. This has created serious problems for Brian. Griese also has a drinking problem, and I am not sure how well he will do after drowning himself in the off-season.
Kansas City Chiefs. A little defense and they will be world beaters.
I agree with this one. With that offense, even a mediocre D gets them the division title.
NFC:
NY Giants. They will be dangerous
Eagles. They will contend...again
Falcons. If Vick gets a supporting cast, beware!Yep, and I'd lookout for the Seahwaks too.
I am a little confused by the NFL this year. None of the top rushers are in the playoffs and with few exceptions, neither are the best defenses. It used to be running the football and a strong defense made an unbeatable team. One dimmensional passing offenses used to lose. This year, it has been all pass with a mediocre defense to win. Go figure.
...therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Daniel 9:23c

Re: NFL, baby.
I now feel confident enough to make my prediction.
The Steelers will win!

So who does everyone like for the Superbowl?
Realistically, I think it's going to come down to Oakland-Philly, but I have a hunch about the Jets that makes me think NYJ-Philly.
And for next year? Who are going to be the teams to watch?
I'm thinking Minnesota will be a big gun next year -- they have tons of room under the salary cap to play the free agency market and have the 7th pick in the first round of the draft. They're one shutdown cornerback and one capable cornerback away from being able to own the NFC North.
(Especially if Brett Favre retires. God willing. I hate the f#(<ing Packers!)
