I would hardly call this breaking news. It is complete speculation and it's not something that most of the mac community didn't already expect. Also the author of that article made several mistakes regarding Apple; she is far from credible.

Here I was going to scold you for being picky about what breaking newa is.
Then I read the article and saw that you are right. It's speculation. Quite possibly true, but speculation.
x86 mini - that's something I wouldn't mind having.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Intel Mini's and iBooks to be released on 28th
It wouldn't surprise me... it's what I thought when the announcement for 2/28 first went up. I forget where it was I read it but when the first intel products were announced evidently there were other things that Apple were hoping to get out by then that were substantially more impressive (according to this article, or posting ... whatever it was I read which could have been BS-internet lies!).
Aside from potential intel iBooks, I'll go with the Mini (renamed to something else completely new) redone as a media center.

A media center mini could very make sense with the "Fun new products" part of the invitation. At this point, who knows what Apple will do. After all, the iMac went Intel not long after the iMac G5 was updated. They really know how to throw us for a loop.

I hope they don't do anything TOO crazy with the format of the mini. It's hard to get something that "works" in the living room not to look totally out of place on the desk.

I don't know - the bondi blue iMac works in living room and on a desk.
The dalmation iMac and flower power iMac don't work anywhere.
The cube works in living room and on desk.

But that's why the initial iMac G5 rev. C now makes sense. Frontrow was kind of a trial balloon. They must have already envisioned where they would be going with a Mini intel media center by that time last year, no?

If I can get it for $400 it might be my first intel mac.
Otherwise - I'll probably wait for the towers. Second generation of the towers.

A cube would look totally out of place in my living room, but that's beside the point (any post 1960's gadgetry looks out of place - no Ikea furniture here!).
I just hope they don't go for a blatently "media centre" form factor... I don't want my Mac to look like a living room appliance. I should have more faith; all of Apple's (recent) hardware has been droolworthy. Flower power iMac being a noteworthy exception!

Apple has created the fem-bot.
It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world.

M8719Z/A is 10.2 Server, I believe. MB719Z/A would be a personalized product, but it doesn't match the current iPod product number scheme. Looks more legit than images i've seen in the past, though. I still call fake.

I sure hope Apple sorts out the quality of their plastics if they go for that.
Mighty cool though.

I've held out on buying an iPod since the 3G iPod (IMO, the best one made so far). But, If this really is the new iPod, I'm going for it.

I never for a moment thought it was M8. Those who do must have bad eyesights
So, it's as fake as that leaked iPod 5G image with chinese labels right before the unveiling?

I just photoshopped my iPod to look like an absolutely amazing fake "video iPod". Then photoshop unexpectedly quit and my clipboard got cleared with it.
So you'll just have to imagine it.

Or be better with regard to Apple product numbers, which ever since the original Macintosh (M0001) have adhered to the Mnnnn scheme...
