Re: Erm...
Here is an example of the importance of taking the fight (harassment) to the enemy I was involved in last night. The map is a 32p version of Dreamus.
As you can see it is a choke-point type map (think Primeval). Taking and holding 5 is key. The closest spawn point the node in the square. If you can delay a good number there then they are not attacking 5. This strategy probably works best when there is not a great distance between nodes. Unless you are really good with a Manta or Raptor this is best done on foot up close and personal.

Didn't your team lose that one?
I jest! Here are the stats on that particular game. Doc's team did win. Looking at the stats it may have felt productive but your team's win is directly attributed to a stronger team, much stronger team. Look at the individual scores. Blue had only 2 guys with less than 10 points. Red had more than a half dozen guys standing around with their hands in their pants.
Why did I pick 10? IMO if you’ve scored 10 or more in ONS you did alright. See I don’t have real high expectations because I’ve had many a game where I thought I did outstanding only to end the game with 11 points. Every time that happens I’m like ‘WTF those were hard earned, damn I could’ve sworn I did better than that.’
Loup I’d pick ya any day of the week. Trust me I think you go to Eleven!
It’s easy to get frustrated at strangers….AKA Road Rage. Not so with folks you’ve known for 5+ years. Finally I had to do something to shake things up in here, been too damn quite.

Re: Erm...
Points in ONS are way over rated. Some of the best games I've been in have ended with everyone on my team in the 30-40 range beating the team with the 1 or 2 big scorers. This usually means that the team with the evenly distributed scores actually worked together as a team (there I said it — it happens).
I think that the reason I like ONS so much is that every time you play it is a bit different than the last. DM seems to be repetitive — time all the weapons, power ups, be really good with LG and Shock — win. CTF for a long time was great for me but it also got repetitive. So far I haven't felt that with ONS.

WoW, I haven't played in a year and I'm still #2 in total matches?
Gator sure is a killing machine with twice the fph of the rest of us. How'd you do that Gator? Lots of deathmatch?
I see I'm not the only one that lost his original user password and had to create a new one.

That's a tag for "Slaughter's Place Regular". That's where I play most of my ONS these days. IP = 8.6.74.102:7777. 30p server with standard and custom maps. Also frequent the Titan server ( 217.77.176.198:7777 ) — that's in jolly old England.

Do you ever see any patients anymore? Or do you just play ONS all day long now?

Re: Erm...
Played a few games of Ons last night. Went beyond my goal of 11. My score was from 14 to 52
Oddly, my better score was in the earlier matches. Maybe it's because it was a familiar map (Torlane). I'm also guessing my score is influenced by the team, good team good score, bad team bad score. Still happy about the 2 games with 50 pts. It's a start !
I guess my old UT99 (|X| squad) training stayed with me a bit. I'm most accurate with the classic sniper rifle
Oh well, plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose.

Oh no argument there, totally agree and it's why I don't have huge expectations on scores. Still scores are indicative of how well you're playing. Looking at our stats and scores one could draw the conclusion that we're eaquals on the ONS field. Then after playing us they'd be right, well I think we are.
I need to start switching to Doc's team more often. Kinda stack the deck and I don't have to feel bad when I do manage a frag on him.

Oh and I'll be around tonight.
And Gator's higher FPH is because of IGib.
