Original UT vs 2K4

Is 2K4 like the origianl UT, does it trash the files you get off a server after a few weeks ? I think UT trashed them 30 days after ? I remember Sifl had created an app that took those files and put them in the right folder so you could use them in instant action and also to avoid long downloads when going to servers that had those custom maps. Does such an app still exist, from Sifl or anyone else ?
Thanks

Re: Original UT vs 2K4

To stop purging the cash in your UT2004.ini under [Core.System] set PurgeCacheDays=0.

If you are on a Mac here is my simple CleanCache script or better yet get Santaduck's Toolpak for UT2004 (v 3.0) over at Macologist.

On a Winows box there are a host of utilities for saving the cache files — I use UT2004Mi — you'll have to Google for a link to that one.

Re: Original UT vs 2K4

I use UT2004Mi as well and have my cashe purge set to 365. I figured if it's still there after a year, it can go away.
