I use a G3 B&W and as soon as I get the Dual Quad I wanna throw the B&W off a roof along with my Beige tower.

That's sick, are you trying to tease me or piss me off? wink

Well, too bad we are far from each other, else I would ask you for the exact address and day you are going to dump that G3 B&W so I can pick it up.

By far it has been the most popular and mentioned favorite Mac across this zombie thread. See for yourself.

Have fun with your Quad.

Ok, I got your attention, so when I buy the G5 I'll ask you if wanna buy the two G3s. But I'd love to toss 'em from a roof for fun.

The G5 Dual 2.0 I'm presently using is the most powerful, trouble-free and productive creative instrument I've ever used. And five years from now, the Intel G7 Quad-Quad with Psychokinetic Hyperintuitive Interface will be my favorite. They just keep getting better ......tongue

We are like 4K miles apart. But I would be glad to take both machines from your hands anytime.

Still, enjoy that Quad, it must be hell waiting for it to arrive.

I think I have to say my SE/30. That's one heck of a powerful box (for its time). Ehm, has to correct myself here. The answer should be. The SE/30 was my favorite for a very long time but now it's my brand new G5 - ie my third Mac.

7100/60 AV... I'll never forget the way people looked when I was watching TV and surfing the web or checking e-mail all at once.  eek Then I'd make the video full screen and they'd absolutely love it. I edited my son's first birthday video on that trusty old Mac in Quicktime. To this day people ask how I did it. confused

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?

Haha!!! I got the same response when I edited a short (2 min) film on my seriously souped up 7600/200 using iMovie... and that was only last year that I pulled that off! lol

I have finallly retired that machine tho, now that I have a DV camera that can be plugged into th Blue G3's firewire... up

And just to refresh your  memories, my favourites are the B+W G3, the PowerBook G3 Series, the 7600/200, and the Mac Plus.

Duffman says... "Ohhhhhhh Yeeeeaahh!!!" cool

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?

I don't know if I could really name a "favorite," but the following systems certainly make me nostalgic:

Quadra 840AV. When this system came out, it was absolutely smoking! I can remember playing an accidentally-leaked pre-release version of Myst on it (long story -- I'll tell it if anybody wants to hear it), and it was mind-blowing how fast it loaded the color screens compared to my IIsi and IIci. Truly an amazing Macintosh. Also my RayDream Studio workstation of choice for a long time.

PowerComputing PowerTower Pro 225. This 225 MHz 604e-based Mac clone was a monster, and Apple couldn't and didn't release anything that could compete for a very long time. The expandability was incredible, almost absurd. We should have seen the end of the Mac Clone era coming when PowerComputing released this thing: It would take a long time for Apple to recover from PowerComputing cutting so deeply into their sales.

PowerBook G4 Titanium 1 GHz. I had owned Mac laptops before, but this was the best ever. I had to sell it when family turmoil put me in a bad way financially. It was my last Mac, and one reason among many that I'm about to return to Mac OS and be rid of Windows forever.

Started with a Mac Classic in '92, then a Performa 6360 in '98, an iMac in 2001, an eMac in 2003 and now I have my 12" PB 1.5. I would have to say that the PowerBook is my fav so far.

oh, and a 12" PowerBook.

The Powerbook G3 Firewire. Otherwise known as "Pismo".

Dual battery capable.
Removable media drives.
Beautiful 14.1" 1024x768 LCD
Fast Graphics (for it's time, and surprisingly holding up very well IMO under panther).
Better airport reception then the Ti series
Sleek Vader-like case.
Upgradable CPU.
Can support 1GB of ram (more than plenty for a laptop)

Truly one of Apple's best machines EVER. I will keep my Pismo until it and the entire closet full of replacement parts dies. Even then I will still hold onto it.
Hours of care put into making the machine look "factory fresh" as the case is, IMO, the best looking case Apple ever designed for a laptop.

WOW, could have written that myself, although my Pismo is still the original spec (maxed out with 1GB of RAM and a DVD-writer drive though). I'm still using it as I write this and it runs Tiger fairly well; I guess the sexy glowing white Apple just does it for me, and it's one of the best laptop keyboards ever...

Peace,
E-man.
