Re: Vacation

Nope, we're still here.  Forecast is for rain through Sunday.  We decided to take today to go shopping, so I'm at the Apple Store in Honolulu.  I'll take a quick pic for you guys.

Re: Vacation

Oh, fun little bit of irony.  To say "thank you" in Hawaiian, you say "mahalo."  Kira called me a dork when I pointed out the coincidence.

I pointed that out to Zander Tuesday night.

How lucky are you?! Stuck in Hawaii. That's a dream come true, for me at least.

Re: Vacation

Stuck in Hawaii isn't so bad, until you take into account that the only road that supplies our grocery stores is out.  Suddenly, its not so ideal.

Ouch. I heard that over the weekend there was going to be more, much more rain. Good luck.

Re: Vacation

It looks like they're opening a single lane on the highway to try to let people though.  We're gonna try to slip out tomorrow and get a hotel room in Lihu'e for the night, instead of waking up at like 2am on Saturday to make the announced 3-hr drive (it normally only takes 30 minutes to get from here to Lihu'e) to catch our 7am flight.

So it looks like we've got a way out; we just have to igure out how best to get to the airport in time for our flight.

Re: Vacation

Hope things are going well.

Delays on the upgrade front, but I'll be back on the server as soon as they're fixed and the machine battleworthy.

Re: Vacation

I'm back.  We managed to get past the bridge, to the airport, and spent all day Saturday flying back to IA.  I spent Sunday playing Burnout Revenge on the 360 with a bunch of friends.

I'll be back in Manhattan next Sunday, but since I'm back on the continent and the vacation is over, I can get back to forum duty.

Re: Vacation

Just got back to the apartment tonight, and I'm going to the post office in the morning to pick up our mail.  I'm putting the puck on the table next to my keys and phone so I won't forget it.
