Console gaming
Is console gaming taking over the gaming world. Is there still room for us computer gamers ? I'm not talking short term here. Computer gaming is here for a few years still. Will the game makers concentrate on consoles since they also can go online, graphics are getting better and the consoles are getting more powerful ?
Just a thought, it's a quiet sunday morning and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet. Plz keep the 'consoles suck ' or 'computer games suck' comments to a minimum. If it's what you think, fine, please elaborate

12 Year Olds use consoles.
Clan [MA] isn't made of 12 year olds. YAY.

Re: Console gaming
Bleeding edge technology & the h4rd c0r3 is never going to let PC games die. The latest consoles don't have a PPU and won't until the next gen round if the PPU doesn't end up being a fad. Some time soon (May?) PC gamers will be able to purchase an additional card for their PCs.
I've always considered the PC as the testing grounds for what ever new technology ends up in consoles. I mean new technology has to cut its teeth somewhere in order to become proven. I don't think developers wanna do that in consoles.

From the amount of locked threads and banned peeps in maf, I wouldn't be too sure about that.

Re: Console gaming
interesting link. In a gamer forum, someone posted a list of games to come this year. How exact it is, I have no clue. Have a look

Heh, it used to be
EDIT - Damn, its been a while since I joined these boards.
I'm pretty sure computer gaming is here to stay (huge market, plus some games just dont work well on consoles), but the simplicity of console gaming is pretty appealing, especially if you don't already have a computer capable of running today's games.
Also, the price difference is considerable, if you compare how much it would cost to get an XBox 360 as opposed to buying/building a high-end gaming PC... the xbox could easily be 1/5th the price of the computer. Even the cost of the games themselves has been offset, since you can walk to your local Blockbuster and rent games.

Re: Console gaming
BS youre still alive?!
some games Ill admit I like with a controller better, but some the UI is way too complex (wow, etc) to ever be played with a controller IMO.

That linked thread is flawed. Some of those games listed are not 'Exclusives'.
Condemned, Halo 2 and UT2007 all have or will have a console version. So that list is some what misleading.
