Huge UT2K4 performance issues with AntiTCC plz read

I wrote this to both Ryan Gordon and the author of AntiTCC Wormbo. If anyone else has experienced this problem please respond:

I am a regular for playing Unreal Tournament 2004 online. Overall, everything runs pretty well. Recently however I have encountered some SERIOUS performance issue with the Mac version of 2K4 and Anti TCC. Whereas connecting to any normal server, for example the Atari ONS Torlan/Primeval games, connecting normally takes around 10-20 seconds and then no delays once fully loaded, when killed, or when the core is destroyed.

When Anti TCC is running though, normal loading time is 1-3 mins, letting me start to play, then freezing 3 times when it reachs the "Checking Files", I believe it is. It causes the music to skip/repeat three times during this period. Next, when I am killed, it freezes the game for about 20 seconds with the "Checking player duing mid-game" alert. Finally, it does another freeze for about 20-30 seconds for the 'Performing End Game' alert. I know it's not a universal OS problem because no one on the PC end is having these problems. I have a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver and the up-to-date version of UT2K4.

This is something affecting the entire Mac community as I did some searching on the MacAddict gaming forums. Please if you can see what's going on or advise a possible solution. I eagerly wait your response. Thanks in advance!

So far no new news. With the lack of anything new on the Atari forums I get the feeling UT2004 is done. All of Epic's resources are being used in Gears of War, UT2007, and Unreal Engine dev.

If I had to guess the absurdly long file checking AntiTCC does is directly related to Tiger and my map loading issues. I know exactly what GodzFire is going through, I have the same long check problems. I know some PC friends that have slower PC's and AntiTCC takes forever for them too.

I don't think it is just AntiTCC either, all the cheat protections that do file checks take forever.

I'd say it is highly probable the two issues are one in the same.

Edit: Just a side note, the original UT with the OS X Beta 3 doesn't seem to suffer from this at all. Those maps load in mere seconds, and the game takes no time at all to load. Granted it is 4 years older, but still.. it is mere seconds in that game.

AntiTCC is a total pain in the ass with all of the pre, mid and post checking. I make it a point to avoid servers running it.

AntiTCC isn't even being maintained anymore, makes me question how effective it really is. I can't say I remember ever seeing it catch a real hacker.. just kicking poor fools for stupid reasons like UTComp loaded from another server where the version doesn't match.
