The Core 2 Duos seem cheaper than the Core Duos...

Okay, who forgot to tell pcguy that cnet is a total smurf?
Find something a bit more helpful here.
That said, a C2D powered MacPro would definitely be a nice crown of performance. Now, please excuse me while I eyeball the E6600.

I think he either honestly forgot that about CNET or simply posted that particular article in a rush to beat the next poster to the story.

Did I? wowwee, am I the first to post the article?
what is the prize for being first?
As for cnet being total "smunf", is it any better or worst as compare to ar... MacAddict magazine, where every Apple product from beginning of time is rated 4.5 out of 5 star.

MacAddict magazine doesn't always praise all of Apple's products. In fact, that is one of the main reasons why I enjoy the magazine - they are truly honest.

I'd usually reject anything that MacBoy says on face, but... I agree with MacBoy.
Hell, there was a VERY nice panorama tutorial/guide in the last issue.

Crossfire or SLI support under Windows? (Or OS X for the matter)
8x 30" displays.
8x cores asuming Kensfield is pin compatable...

Same common architecture (Merom/Conroe/Woodcrest) known as Core 2, but different chips than the Conroe or Intel Core 2 Duo.

What I want to know is how come the new Mac Pro doesn't have the Core 2 Duo?

Re: This are the new Core2Duo machine, will see how MacPro compare in 1wk
Cause they can't be used in dual CPU configurations. Thus the Xeon.

Up to four 7300GTs? Color me unimpressed.
I'd much rather see two X1900XTs in that monster.

Hmm, leaning towards SLI/Nvidia instead of Crossfire/ATI(AMD)?

Re: This are the new Core2Duo machine, will see how MacPro compare in 1wk
Hmm, looks like Apple has designed this motherboard to last them a while. They just keep adding better GPUs, different memory daughter cards, bigger CPUs (dual quad core), larger capacity HDs and bigger opticle drives!
Can someone please tell me why Pioneer, maker of a $1000 Blu-Ray, cutting edge, rights-removing DRM-infected, high-tech, next-gen, way-cool drive made the #_)$(# thing IDE?

If you say so
although I don't agree, if you look at something like Precision490-690, the price should be close even without those famous Dell "coupon"
, I will just leave it at that.
