Low Framerates via S-Video w/ RADEON 9800 Pro
Hey all,
This isn't a problem that I think can really be solved, but rather a question that I'd like some information on. Mods, If you feel that this topic would be better suited for a different room, e.g. Unplugged, please take the liberty of moving it.
I decided to take my computer out from under the desk and plug it into my TV in the living room. The resolution is crappy, although supposedly it's the same as my desktop monitor (1024x768.) Given that my TV is an old Cathode Ray Tube, it doesn't have DVI input, and for some reason doesn't have VGA input either, but it does have S-Video input, and my ATi RADEON 9800 Pro Mac 256 has an S-Video out port. So I hooked everything up and loaded up a game. When the game began playing, I started getting unplayable framerates, which I never got when I had my desktop monitor plugged in via VGA. What's going on? Is my card defective? Or is the S-Video engine 'weaker' than the VGA or DVI engine?
Thanks for any enlightenment anyone wishes to share
