Dish Network vs. DSS

I have been a DSS subscriber for 7 years now.  This guy, Steve, came to my door tonight offering a special promotion for Dish Network.  I don't really want to switch and hassle with the new dish and all that stuff, but the deal seems better than what we have.

Any one ever deal with the Dish network?  Or dSS or both?

Just wondering.

Check for it's ongoing rates/etc... don't fall for the promo's... unless the ongoing benifits are better.

That said, go with Digital Cable.

I like commercials where people throw their dishes out the window.

We dont' live where we can get digital cable.  The local cable sucks tree frogs.  COX cable is in OMaha, just north.  They eat everyone for lunch.

So no one has either of these?

Stick w/ the digital, dishes suck, and the reception is horrble, I get digital cable and cable internet for $80/month, seems like a good deal to me.

Re: Dish Network vs. DSS

My neighbors said they used to have dish network. They told me it sucked, that it was hard to get anyone on the phone and that the service wasn't that good.

I have DirecTV, and I love it. The service is great. The signal is great. The customer service has always been great. The installation was quick and painless and I've never had any problems.

DirectV it is. I have an HD set and the HD ShowTime and HBO channels are awesome.
