Spider! (he's our hero)

http://bb.mafmods.com/picatures/spidersmall.jpg

She just crawled up my kitchen wall. Since I moved house I haven't seen one of these little ones, it's almost like a touch of home. It's also a sign that winter is over.

The photo was taken with a camera phone, and you can still see the gleam in her eye.

Not many people realize, but most spiders can jump a fair bit. Most large ones can jump like half a meter.

The body is around an inch long, so not really that big. Had to get in nice and close with the camera.

It would have been funny if he jumped on your face while you take the pic.

As much as I can't stand spiders, I like how you slipped in a TMBG reference.

And that is one heck of a spider.

Yes, spiders can jump, but they're far, far more likely to jump under your fridge than to jump straight at your face.

Don't get me wrong, I love spiders, but I have a size-tollerance.  Anything bigger than the palm of my hand is getting into the "eeeeeeewwwwwwwww" category.

There I fixed it.

I think this might have talked me out of ever going to Australia. Even a tiny spider the size of a dustmite is too much for me. But that thing...Id fall over dead of a heart attack.

That thing is a monster, I glad we don't get spiders that big here in Maine ... if we did I don't think I would be able to sleep blush

Re: Spider! (he's our hero)

I don´t get why people have such a fear of spiders.  I think they`re cute little animals. I once held a tarantula and thought that was cool.

I just don`t like spiders like the brown recluse.  Those things scare me because they are so small and deadly.

I`d rather have a big spider than a small spider.  Big spiders are less dangerous.
