Skype is freaking awesome!!!! - Moved to make some bastard happy ;)
I just set up a skype account with 10 dollars, and it's awesome. I can call from Germany to America for 2.4 cents per minute. That's so cheap, I LOVE it. I think if ebay/skype play their cards right they could become the next AIM, or MSN messanger. More people should look into skype. It's seriously cool!!!!!

I love Skype so much, but no one I know uses it!
Is there a way to chat with AIM users in the Skype app? Plugins? Anything?
If anyone know, that would make my day.

People, people. If you didn't know, Skype is allowing free PC to Phone calls until I think December. You are restricted to the US and Canada, But I ain't complaining. To make the call type +1 and then the number after it.
+1XXX-XXX-XXXX or +1XXXXXXXXXX
and you got yerself a call. Now whats really cool is that you can also conference other skype or phones on the call as well. I've personally conferenced a max of 5 people, including one on a cel and the other on a land line. The audio quality is a lot better than Ventrillo or Teamspeak.
It has however crashed a few times on my Mac, but it has as well on my PC.
I enjoy it and recommend it highly.

I've been using Vonage for awhile now - it works great and gives you a true "phone" experience.
Costs me about $15/month but I don't call overseas.

Well, adium lets you use multiple chat protocols with one program, but skype is relatively new and unique. So don't count on another program working with skype anytime soon.

I suppose you all know, but they just updated Skype.
The windows changed, I like the style a lot more know, more clean, less big buttons.
For some reason the auto updater didn't warned of a new version here in my macbookpro, but it did at home, in my old iBook. Even doing a "Check for update" didn't work, I had to go to the download page and work from there.
I like this new version a lot more.

You can use Skype to call AIM users. However, AIM users need to be using the new version of AIM that supports VoIP (windows only, as I recall).
Skype is a VoIP client. It works with other VoIP clients, cell phones, or landline phones. There are several VoIP clients and services for MacOS.

So apparently they're giving a way ten free minutes to Mac users today. I made an international call and got charged the normal rate so I don't know hot to claim my minutes. If anyone knows, please share.
