I guess you're right about the 64 bit bit. wouldn't a thinner case mean that heat can escape better and hence maintain a cooler temperature?

Yes, the heat escapes better. INTO YOUR LAP!

If its a low-power chip, that should imply that it will run cooler. I mean, electricity goes into the chip and ends up waisted as heat. If their making it run more efficiently, they should be able to increase battery time.

Back in my day we let the PC laptops fry users, while we stayed calm and cool with our G3's. What is this world coming to?

I hit 91c/195F the other day. Beating my existing personal record of 88c/190F.

Considering that water boils at 100C/212F... this is definitely too hot. I am writing this with my iBook G4 on my lap, and it's perfectly comfortable.
