Some debate whether it's a hatchback or a wagon but it close enough for me. It's got the power, the AWD (best in the world), the safety and the looks. I own two, one red, one blue. big_smile

Could I fit a seven foot long recumbent trike in the back?

Re: PLEASE NOTE

I want to say yes but not ever having owned one, I can't say. I have put in many large objects my wagon. The seats fold down and it gives you over 61 cu.ft. of space. I've fit in objects that were 8 feet in length in the vehicle. So, maybe. shrug

Regardless, it's a great vehicle. The AWD system, the boxer type engine, the low center of gravity, the horsepower. It's all in the ride. I've driven many cars before but none drive as well and handle corners, bad weather and rough roads as well as the WRX. I guess if you can't fit the bike in, you need to decide if you enjoying biking or driving more.

When I'm rich and live *really* in the middle of nowhere, I will have a Subaru as well. Solid++

Biking, by a very, very large margin.  But, if you can cram in objects that are 8 feet long, maybe this car will be in my future.  That is, once the car we have finally dies.

Re: PLEASE NOTE

I still maintain the Golf GTI is the best looking hatchback you can buy today.

Re: PLEASE NOTE

I think one of the neatest little cars around right now is the new Suzuki Swift.
Japanese company I  know, but apparently it's an Italian design, and they are built here in Hungary, so it looks/feels rather more European than Japanese.

As for hatchbacks in general though, the Audi A3 is by far my favorite.

Re: PLEASE NOTE

I still don't think it looks like a Honda, but I will concede their vehicle designs are much improved on those of 5+ years ago. However, the interiors still generally suck. I like well designed, minimalist, aesthetically pleasing interiors. NOT ramshackle inyerface cockpits, with contours everywhere, buttons in every crevice, no doubt many of which are emblazoned in CAPITALS in that same God-awful font they've used since the '70s.

Shiny!  That interior looks like some kind of sci-fi spacecraft cockpit.  I think I could get used to that.

It's a Renault.  No further comedic utterances necessary.

Some laughing and pointing may be apropos, though.
