Re: Where would you relocate to
From about.com:
The London-based Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) Liveability Ranking, conducted a worldwide search for the best places to live and visit. Looking at 40 different indicators arranged in five separate categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure, EIU published some interesting findings. With three cities in the top ten, Canada came out on top due to its low crime, little threat from terrorism and a highly developed infrastructure. The best ranked US cities were Cleveland and Pittsburgh, both ranking 26th in the World.

Re: Where would you relocate to
I live near Los Angeles, and though people bad-mouth the place incessantly, lots of people have found some reason to move here since the Great Depression. I'm not really sure what the attraction is. I do like the fact that there's an enormous amount of top-quality live theater here. My parents' families move here in the '30s and '40s for work, but the aerospace industry isn't centered here anymore.
I like the fact that it's near the mountains, so real wilderness is right next door. Not so much of a beach person.
I'd like to travel, especially the Civil War sites, and I'd like to someday see the site of the battle of the Little Bighorn in Montana. But that's not really enough reason to relocate. I guess I'd consider moving to Encino if there were enough $$$.

You mean the incredibly homoerotic Turkish oil wrestling? Oh yeah, baby. I'm actually going to be in Istanbul myself in a few days!
On topic: I may at some point relocate to Puerto Rico... just need to take some Spanish courses since I only speak French in addition to English. I'm thinking the west coast of PR... kind of rugged with less tourists, but still with amenities in the way of good restaurants.

I know a guy in Costa Rica.
Well, I don't know him - he is hitting on me on myspace.
He knows a lot about milk snakes, use to breed them up here in the states before he bought some land down there.
I know at some point he is going to suggest I come down to check out the tropical herps they have. I just know it.

Well some may call me crazy but I really like Kansas City. Lots to do, many different types of commmunities, and houses aren't too expensive compared to some places.

KC is a really cool town. Plenty of small-town stuff to do, plenty of history (Truman Library, etc.), plenty of big-town stuff to do (the whole downtown area, the Chiefs, the Royals, good restaurants, etc.), good music scene, great barbecue, really nice people, good property values...
My wife's (extended) family lives there, and I love going to visit. And we'll be there over Christmas. Can't wait.

I actually lived in Aguda PR for a while. It's in the Northwest corner of the island right by Mayaguez. It was about the prettiest place I ever lived. I just couldn't get a job if my lif depended on it.
