Run Rudy run!!
So Rudy Giuliani is apparently pondering a presidential run.
I for one would like to come out right now as supporting that run. Not that I think he'll be a great president (or candidate), but o the fireworks in the party!
My dream slate: Giuliani vs McCain vs Pat Buchanan.
Civil war, baby! There'll be blood in the frickin' streets!

You don't think those two are fighting other members in the party and the outcome will have a lot to do with the path of the next 2 years?
I certainly do.

Pelosi wants Murtha to be majority leader, certainly.

OK, I didn't say Pelosi was fighting Murtha.
Let me be more clear here.
There is currently a power struggle going on in the Dem leadership.
Nasty words are flying back and forth and sides being taken.
This is kind of a big deal going on right now and you guys aren't talking about it.

Mr. Giuliani's skeletons > Senator McCain's skeletons ?
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

I don't know what McCain's skeletons are, but Giuliani doesn't seem to be ashamed of his - at least he hasn't dodged them or tried to hide that they exist - unless I'm remembering some other guy.

Oh - McCain won't be president.
He's a always been an also ran in presidential races, doesn't get enough excited people behind him. Kind of like Bob Dole.

I'm looking forward to Madame President Pelosi. Come on! You can do it! Two impeachment trials is all it takes.

Giuliani won't get through the Republican primary. Even if he starts denouncing gays and abortion right now the right wing will never trust him.
McCain will probably make it through if he keeps sucking Jerry Falwell's ass for the next year or so.

I never got that impression from him.
In his 2000 campaign he called him an agent of intolerance.
This time around he personally met with him and said he isn't an agent of intolerance.
It reminds me of when Lieberman requested to meet and share ideas with Louis Farrakhan.

Hey, wow, yeah - I remember now.
California republican primaries are pretty boring, it's already been decided by the time we get to vote - and since I'm not registered republican, I get very little republican propoganda in the mail. So that whole black baby thing wasn't really done too much out here.
But yes, I do remember something about that.

Re: Run Rudy run!!
There was that. GW also painted McCain as having some kind of tortured POW psyche, aka The Manchurian Candidate. McCain's also made remarks about gooks -- he doesn't really like Asian people much; and he once made a bad joke about the gawky appearance of a teenage Chelsea Clinton. But those were a few years back, he's kept a pretty tight-lip as of late.

Re: Run Rudy run!!
The entire McCain/black baby question in 2000 was entirely evil. It was a push poll in South Carolina from the Dubya campaign which asked something like "If you were told that Senator McCain had fathered an illegitimate black child, would you be more inclined or less inclined to vote for him?" McCain and his wife are raising a dark-skinned child: one that they adopted from Bangladesh. Note that the questioner doesn't say that McCain had an illegitimate black child--it only posed the hypothetical.
More details here.
