Does that article hold any truths in your Wii-experienced eyes, folks?
I have had no problems with accuracy. If anything, it's amazing how precise it is.
Back in the days of NES, I could jump off the PowerPad and onto the carpet and then hop back on the pad at the last moment to get super scores in track and field games. Everybody knew that, but most people didn't choose to play that way all of the time. It misses the point. I mean, duh you don't have to pretend to play full out tennis or really hold the controller like a bat and give it a full swing. You don't have to, but it's a lot more fun. That reporter should get the stick out of his butt and use a little something called imagination. His life would probably be a lot more enjoyable.

Why did I replace the word life with wife there? Was probably the previous sentence...
Anyway, I don't understand people that are playing the Wii and not getting into it. It isn't the end of the world if you wave your hands around like a moron.

I want mario tennis!
I went to the mall today. No wii, of course (and EB had a sign up to make sure that you didn't even bother asking them when they'd be getting a shipment in).

Re: Wii stake out - when are you heading into line?
Well, I got it. I went to Costco at 9:20 ish. There was a small line of less than 10. As we got closer to 10 am they crowd got larger but it was clear that not everyone was there for the Wii.
I brought it home, set it up (via composite) and you know what? At 135" it doesn't look that bad. I guess the scaler inside my projector is pretty good.
I'm gonna get the component cables anyway. Right now the only thing I dislike is that the image looks a little "soft". I am sure that the component cables will fix that.
Anyway, can't talk now. Gotta save Hyrule.

Yeah, this sort of thing pisses me off. I work retail. I get to answer what's perceived to be stupid questions all day. When I ask, since I was told Tuesday was a possibility, if the next shipment is in, or if my pre-ordered VC controller is in, I want verbal communication. A grunt is also not acceptable. Full sentences.
As a matter of fact, since a particular smurf cock at CH54 has me fired up enough, I think I just might take out a lesson on consumer relations on the first game retail employee that doesn't do it half-right. The job is hell now? Right now I'm Wii-less and still happy. Happy! Happy! Happy! You're not going to like it when I'm unhappy, and start cashing in the emotional points for misinforming me on pre-orders, setting me up for a fall when saying that you'll have more systems than what was preordered.
I wish indie game shops existed out here.

My brother-in-law works for one in St. Louis. They're not supposed to be getting any wiis before christmas.
The "we have no idea" response is irritating because I'm guessing they do have some idea. I would imagine they aren't completely in the dark as to whether they'll receive more by next week or not a single one until next month.

If this helps..

During an investor conference call, GameStop has confirmed that both Nintendo and Sony have sent the retailer new shipments of Wii and PlayStation 3 consoles just in time Black Friday, which is only a few days away. Even better, GameStop has also expressed confidence in a weekly shipment of each console, although did not provide specifics on how large any of the shipments would be.

Yeah, that lines up with what the guy at EB said. They're getting the shipment on wednesday, selling them on Friday, then having shipments about once a week from them on (with them getting stuff everyday so who knows when they will actually get them).

Uggh, that sounds like it would involve standing outside the mall and then trying to beat the other crazies to the store when they unlock the doors. I might have to wait.

The number of consoles available on eBay is completely absurd. Some people have 8 or 9 to sell!

I thought ebay was only allowing one console auction at a time. I really hate scalpers.

Call your Wal-Marts at 10am everyday.
I've been confirmed that my EB Games will definitely have units on Friday.

A word of warning to everyone out there: Don't let your parents use the damn thing - I can't get my mom to stop… she even insisted on taking it with us to my grandmothers today. Curses to Wii Sports, and it's apparently addictive bowlingness.
Damn it woman, I want to play Zelda!

I will be traveling to Cookeville at 3am this morning to get another shot at one of these things. Dammit.

Re: Wii stake out - when are you heading into line?
Such a heartbreaking morning. Out the door at 5:45am, the mall and EB games had opened 1.5 hours earlier than they told me on wednesday. Drove to two best buys and was laughed at. Finally found an EBgames that hadn't opened yet, I was 12th in line. They were letting people in 5 at a time.
Seriously no joke, first 5 people walked out- each had a wii AND a PS3 in hand, and that was all they had to offer. im crushed.
toysrus is still allowing online orders, but it says they wont ship for 3-5 business days, and you have to buy a pretty expensive bundle.
anyone know what the shipment schedule is for best buy?
PS- everyone should play ultimate frisbee, its even more fun than your mac...

Re: Wii stake out - when are you heading into line?
Take back your unopened memory card. Go to RadioShack. Get the 1GB SanDisk generic SD card. Instant rebate, then mail in rebate = $13.
Oh, and I woke up at 3:45, drove an hour to Cookeville, dropped by the Wal-Mart. No shipment. Continued to EB Games. Five people in line. The front two guys say that they were expecting only two units. Guy in front of me says I should be okay because he was told six. 5:30 AM.
Shortly before 6:50, I have about 30 people behind me in line. Including a lady that says she was told between 6-22 units. Employee arrives, pulls out tickets, hands out...
five.
Wal-Mart reports they're getting a shipment of 30 units at 10am. I have to be at work, can't wait around, dad comes down for me, bless his heart and trolls the Wal-Mart waiting for the UPS truck.
Neither Wal-Mart got a shipment. What the smurf.
I am having the worst luck with this thing.

It was funny at the eb I camped at because some lady said 50 (everyone around me was thinking, "yeah right lol"). They ended up getting 6.
Now I just need another Wiimote.
