Hardware advice...tower or laptop
Ok....the choices are...
2.15GHz Intel Duo Core MacBook Pro with 128mg video card and 2 gigs of ram. Runs at 30fps MAX.
I have a G4 Quicksilver tower with Dual 800s and 64 meg video card and 1 gig of ram.
If i put a hardcore video card in the tower would the fps increase past the laptop?
and DISCUSS!
thanks.

Get a MacPro...
Thanks for making the extra effort at being totally useless. You might have noticed that i'm a little full on macs atm. Besides, if i wanted a machine to just play wow on, i'd spend 600$ on a PC and through a 256mb card in it.

Well, I wouldn't get a MBP because high-end laptops are a waste of money unless you make money with them. If you want something to play games on, get a MacPro or go buy a PC. Putting a newer video card in your older machine isn't going to solve much in the long run. How's that for totally useless? I was being efficient in just saying buy a MacPro. Useless? No.
MacBook Pro 15.4"
2.5GHz CPU, 250GB HDD, 512MB VRAM

Re: Hardware advice...tower or laptop
riiiiiight. So i ALREADY OWN the laptop. and i ALREADY OWN the tower. The laptop can't do over 30fps period. Do you think that the tower with a better video card could give me better performance?

Yea...so i was asking if a new video card in a tower that i already own would bypass the fps on the laptop i already own. And the answer is "buy a MacPro"....
sorry for being impolite. That was obviously the answer.

Okay, asshat. Of course getting a better card will improve the performace - a bit. But it is still a G4. In other words: PoS 4 WoW. Either enjoy the lappie as it stands, or buy a smurfin' Mac mini / iMac / MacPro / mythical $600 PC with a 256 MB card.
BTW - welcome to MAF. Now learn some manners.
