Re: So, whatcha taking?

FINALLY got my classes.  Had to do the second session of transfer orientation after missing the first (and early) orientation due to a family vacation.

ARTDES 160 - Lecture Series I
ARTDES 210 - Digital Studio II
ARTDES 220 - Tools, Materials & Processes V: Print
ARTDES 221 - Tools, Materials & Processes VI: Fiber
ARTDES 230 - Concept, Form & Context III: Processes
ARTDES 250 - Art-Design Perspectives III: Tech & The Environment

My transfer credits accounted fore pretty much every non-major-oriented credit I need for eventual graduation so I get to take almost all art classes up until graduation.  Which is frickin' sweet.

sounds like a nice course... the last computer graphics class that i took was literally computer graphics where we learned about concepts like vector graphics, ray tracing, shading theories, etc.

i think the kind of class that you're taking would have been more beneficial to me, but learning about some of the stuff that i had to learn wasn't bad.  helped me understand all the progression that the market has been making, especially on ray tracing now that computers are moving away from increasing the clock speeds on processors to double, quadrupling, etc. the number of cores in a computer.

HDEV 300 - Social Science Research Methods
HDEV 362 - Civil Rights and Liberties
HDEV 382R - Social Inequalities
HDEV 462 - General Case Management

Three semesters to go including this one...I'm psyched, considering it's taken me 10 years to get this far!  At least I know more of who I am and what I want to do with my life at this point...I had no idea right out of high school.

Re: So, whatcha taking?

Hahaha I should've clarified.  That's both my Fall and Winter semester.  I'm only taking 5 of those courses in the fall and then I'll be taking 5 more in the winter.

As for what I'm doing with my major...ideally, I'd like to get into public sector econometric research (ie. working for the Bank of Canada/Central Bank), but I wouldn't rule out working for the private sector.  I've also been toying with the idea of going for a Master's of Economics and while I have the grades for it, I'm not quite sure if I have the funds.  The dual-major is just there because I started off doing Computer Science and after 1.5 semesters plus a co-op work term I had pretty much lost all passion to do it professionally.  I still enjoy coding as a hobby, but I definitely cannot make it my career.  So, instead of just flushing those credits down the drain, I declared as a dual-major.

I'm actually quite pleased with the way things turned out.  I had so many math courses done already that I got to skip the algebra and calculus courses required for the ECON portion of my major and after taking two spring courses, I'm set to graduate on track as if I had stayed as Comp. Sci. Co-op.

I wanted to try and take 20 credits this quarter, but since I'm a new student, I'm limited to 15.  Maybe next semester!
