Re: No good-byes????

No one uses the LFG for instances when i'm on, and even if there is a group. The DPS slot is filled so i'm left hanging.

I'm also rather tired of the BC instances. They all feel the same. Just in and out quickies that take you through a loop of 3-4 bosses then spit you back out at the beginning. It just doesn't feel original. I want something like Strat or Scholo where it actually feels like your doing something different other than the same waste of time. Yeah you have to hearth out sometimes at the end but at least there was a better feeling of accomplishment more like being on the raids.

Maybe I should go lvl my pally but dagnabbit my rogue came first and always is gonna get first picks!! Well that and plate repair bills really suck wink.

I love the fact that they're now quick. It means I don't have to devote a 2+ hour timeblack to an instance. I've only done Ramparts, but that instance has never taken me more than 1h15min, which I find is excellent.

Re: No good-byes????

You'll find, that for the most part, excluding a few instances (one that comes to mind is The Botanica) they all follow that short '3 bosses' setup. Although they get more veried in the layout, I too like the 1, 2, 3 done sort of feel to these 5 mans, as I dont really like devoting my night to a 5 man instance. (But I'll wipe in Gruul's Lair for 6 hours np wink)

As you get to the later instances such as The Arcatrez, The Mechnar, The Botanica (ie the Netherstorm instances), or Steamvaults, you will begin to see what I think blizzard has done a good job of: difficult, and challenging 5 man content.

Although after seeing Karazhan, I think they may have taken the idea the whining criers on the WoW boards had of "QQ casual content w/ epics please, I dont like to raid /cry qq" and ran with it a little too far. In a 10 man instance, I should not see a 6/9 Dreadnaught Warrior, with 12.9k hp get 2 hit by trashmobs.

Karazhan needs some adjusting (especially Netherspite, and the Prince). Prince Malchazzar bugging out and putting Enfeeblement on MT, shows that that encounter is broken... horribly. Bugs, and Boss difficulty that far surpasses anything seen in late Naxxramas (yes Netherspite is more difficult than Kel'Thuzad, and is more taxing on raid stacking, and gearing and consumables), says to me that they really didn't play test the instance, and just went through with their /kill bot making sure all the bosses properly died, and properly dropped loot ect.

I will say however since I'm on the subject of raid content, that I have really enjoyed the 25 man raid content (and the 40) thus far in Burning Crusade. Doom Lord Kazzak was a fresh challenge, but with older rules that we're all familiar with via the old Lord Kazzak back in the Blasted Lands.

Gruul's Lair has proven similarly challenging, but yet, very unique and refreshing as far as raid content design is concerned. It really shows me, that the 'raid' design team has learned just how awesome Naxxramas was, and is pushing to capture that unique, and fresh feeling to each boss that was shown in Naxx.

(as a side note I've found it quite funny through-out leveling that they've taken aspects of some of the most challenging pre-bc raid content, and dumped it into 5 mans, with many people probably not even knowing that its there. Mobs with no threat list, or who reset their threat list, Stage 1 of the Kel'thuzad fight implemented on a smaller scale, Broodlord, Sulfuron, Prophet Skerem, Void Zones a-la Lady Blemeaux (one of the Four Horsemen) are just a few examples. Definately makes the 5 man stuff interesting tongue)

Re: No good-byes????

I'm still on WW!  Since day one, I'm just horde big_smile

I could roll an alliance but I doubt I'd play, I like shamans (draenai don't count, honestly) too much, and my new blood elf mage is friggin awesome.

I dunno why people moved, honestly the expansion transition was NOTHING compared to the first month of WoW, rolling resets, ten servers, I mean cmon, are people that impatient?  -checks blizz forums- oh nevermind....

Re: No good-byes????

I wouldn't mind ganking if people didn't only go for "easy gank wooo!"  even my alliance friend does it. >.<  Personally I don't have enough free time to have to worry about running to my corpse every ten minutes because someone ten elvels above me decided to spend his free time messing with people unable to defend themselves.

Re: No good-byes????

Red = Dead. It's funny how the horde on our server are cowards. They dont fight 1v1, or /beg /cry. If you kill them 1v1, they go get half of their guild and come corpse camp you, instead of just manning up and fighting fair... or they only fight if they have overwhelming odds.

Example, me (62 at the time) Shadow priest, and a friend of mine (61) rogue, pvping in Hellfire, we killed 2 level 70 hunters, and a 65 warrior. So what do the horde do? They go get another hunter (70) a mage, (70), a holy priest (70) and another warrior (70) and come and corpse camp us. Ahh gotta love the horde.

I know it sucks to let the purples go, but is it really that surprising that a tank wearing gear from before the stamina revaluing is getting whacked in new epic level content?

Seriously there are some blues with nearly double the stam of Dreadnaught in a couple slots. TBC raids are balanced around TBC gear, not Tier 3.

And that's what the alliance does all the time on my friends pvp server.  Also which are you going to do, stand and keep killing each other or get friends by to smack down someone so you can continue grinding/questing, I'm not saying I would do the whole "call in the cavalry" if I were on pvp, I'm just saying its not so illogical to do so.

Yeah it is that suprising that the tanking loot most difficult instance yet released pre-tbc, is not enough to equip your tanks for minor entry level raids (yes 10 man is minor), and entry level TBC outdoor (ie: easy) raid content. Dreadnaught offers a lot of alternate midigation, and tanking stats, as well as set bonus' that as overall pieces are better than a lot of those 'high stam blues'. Exceptions, would be the pieces which this particular tank was wearing, Blue legs (either quest reward, or KoT revered), and breastplate, and the green (uber) bracers from the netherstorm questline.

On an even more depressing note, we have more than a few warriors, paladins, and druids fully geared in 'the best' post TBC blue tanking gear avalible and sadly enough, these guys too get 2-3 hit by Karazhan trash, so the problem is not limited just to 'zomg purplzzz warriors', but actual midigation problems in general, and the fact that everything hits so incredibly hard, which I believe was the point I was trying to make originally.

Re: No good-byes????

I have no problem with gankings so long as it isn't repeated and against a target that has a chance.  I instigated something against a level 70 Mage last night (I'm 67) and won, and it was actually fun.  How a 65 Paladin and 70 Hunter enjoy camping a 64 Priest is beyond me though - particuarly since Hunters are so ridiculously good against cloth casters (He hit me with siliencing shot, and I was dead before it wore off).

Edited for spelling.

Re: No good-byes????

Personally I've been incredibly pleased with the content in TBC.  I have a group I run with quite regularly tanked by a druid with two shadow priests, a hunter, any myself (Pally) healing.  We haven't been into karazhan yet but have had no problems outside of there.  Went around killing trash in Naxx the other day too until we ran into the gargoyles and didn't have enough DPS.  Oh well.  Hooray for level 70, eh?

Funny you say that since that's what my friend does, he's a hunter and he's got all the stuff so he can two shot pretty much anything and anyone hmm
