Halo 2 Problems, need help
Every thursday my school has a gamers club, were people get together to basically have a good time. Last Thursday our vice president of the club brought her boyfriend over and played us in Halo 2.
All I can say is that he kicked our butts and it seemed that in some cases it only took him one shot of any weapon to take us out. I for one don't care but a lot of my friends do so heres the main problem.
When he would shoot a Battle Rifle it did something called a double and triple shot and you pressed r,r,x to make it work. It would cancel out reloading times and would also continue to fire; before the battle rifle did "burst shots" now when he did this it did around 3-4shots in a row with out a pause of the weapon and also reloading times.
Could I have some sort of legit document stating that its alright to use in matches or not?
My friend said that they took this exploit out after they released the Halo 2 Multiplier maps yet this guy was still able to pull these stunts off even though supposedly it was taken out.
I'm getting tired of my friends fighting of this stupid issue and if it continues we won't be able to have our gamers club again in our high school.
On another note the VP said that when she watches her boyfriend play online he plays against the best. Some sort of tournaments that bungie does, not sure what they are but its like some sort of elite gamers thing online, Ive never heard of it probably because the fact I dont play Halo 2 that much but she said they use this exploit all the time.

Re: Halo 2 Problems, need help
There was a bungie.net weekly update (can't find it in the mass of updates but it is there somewhere) that stated that bungie does not condone any glitches in the game that change the way the game was meant to be played, (like BXR, BXB, Double Shot, Super Jump, etc) So, bungie is against it but MLG still allows some glitches, like BXR. It is up to the players of the tournament to decide the rules ahead of time.

Re: Halo 2 Problems, need help
Bungie does not condone any exploit per se and works to eliminate them. Those caught bending the rules face the Banhammer, usually winding up in the Waambulance. It follows that a Bungie tourney as such would not allow exploits.
That said, boyfriend should get with the program, and you don't need to cite any particular documentation. Common sense dictates that everyone play by the same set of rules... make him play the same game as you do or don't play with him. You wouldn't play electronic checkers against someone on a machine that allowed him & and only him nonstandard moves; make him win legitimately. Level the playing field or don't let him play.
