Rogue Weapons

I've been spending time on my rogue lately.  Sinuous is now level 38.  Up to very recently I had him outfitted with two glinting steel daggers with +2 damage enchants on them.  One of my other toons picked up a Speedsteel Rapier which my warlock enchanted with +4 damage and gave to Sinuous.  I kept the dagger in Sinuous' main hand for the dagger-unique attacks.

This last weekend Sinuous was in a pick-up group for Gnomergan.  We didn't get far before breaking up.  We killed just the first boss, Viscous Fallout.  He dropped the toxic revenger, which I unfortunately lost the roll on.  After thinking about it, I decided to stealth back in and whup the elemental solo.  He dropped another revenger and I was thrilled.  I noticed poisons don't work on this boss.

So now I'm looking ahead at what other blue weapons I might easily obtain by stealthing through an instance to the bosses and which have a decent chance to drop.  The next blue dagger looks to be the Coldrage Dagger which drops off Amnennar the Coldbringer, the last boss in Razorfen Downs.

Would one of you with a higher level rogue or druid stealth in there with me and help me whup that boss, possibly a couple times until the dagger drops?  Several posts on the Amnennar page suggests a stealth run to the boss is possible.

What other blue weapons would you guys suggest? Leather armor suggestions are welcome also.

Thanks,

Re: Rogue Weapons

I wouldn't bother too much with gearing up, use what you get from instance runs you need to do for XP, but you'd be better off levelling and just using what quest rewards/cheap greens you can find.

Re: Rogue Weapons

I'm not trying to level my rogue quickly.  I've already got three 60+ toons.  I just wanna try out tricks that are not available on my other toons.

Re: Rogue Weapons

Two words Sagall...Black Menace!

Its part of a quest series which ends in Scarlet Mon. One of the best midgame daggers I ever used till almost lvl 50. As far as other blades, I never really found a lot till I got into the 50s. Sang'thraze in ZF I liked on my Pally before I got Jang. The shield popped quite often. Its more useful for tanks but heck, deflecting some dmg for a rogue would help when soloing.

Gearwise, just think Agility. Whatever gets you more is bout all you want. Later on this turns into a balancing act between +crit% gear and Attack Power gear but good ole agility is great even then.

Re: Rogue Weapons

Thanks, I'll do that quest series.  Wow, it starts in Stormwind with the Scarlet Emissary and bounces all over the world before ending in a fight at Scarlet Monastery.

Re: Rogue Weapons

OK, I got the prerequisites done and leveled to 39.  On to Scarlet Monastery!  Dang, it looks like I have to kill  bosses in three of the four sections to complete the quest.  Heh, I'll probably hit 40 and have to buy a horse for this toon.

Part of the quest sequence had me killing skeletons in the southeastern corner of Desolace.  While pick pocketing them, I found a few pretty rocks.  Heh, Blizz shows its sense of humor again. Pick-pocketing about 40 skellys yielded two greens in a junk box, one citrine, some rogue poisons and grey junk.

I noted that the start of this quest sequence was Scarlet Emissary Crowley  in the Stormwind Cathedral.  Giving the Scarlet Emissary the name of an infamous satanist appears to be another bit of Blizz humor.

Re: Rogue Weapons

Nah, unless I need a new weapon for my rogue after this I probably won't say any more about him. tongue

Besides this forum has been waaay too quiet lately.  Why don't you start a thread on something WoW related?

Re: Rogue Weapons

Thought that quest line started only in Desolace. Least thats where I always got it at. Kill the undead skeles for the crusade then move onto the SM parts.

Re: Rogue Weapons

There's a couple quest series I can name that allow skipping the first part.  Mizrael in the Arathi Highlands actually starts with a necklace thats a rare drop in the tower of Anthalaxx or Defias enchanter in Duskwood.  However if you don't get the necklace you can stil pick up the Mizrael quest sequence when you get to Arathi.  <shrug>
