What the hell?

I tried to view Unplugged, and I got this.   confused   What's up with that?  Was it Safari's fault?

Re: What the hell?

That's pretty strange.  For a second there, I couldn't figure out how to close the window!

Re: What the hell?

Turn the catridge upside down and blow on the contacts.  Then flip it over twice and insert it while looking at the B button and raising your eyebrow.

Nevermind, that's how you troubleshoot a vintage Nintendo...

No, the problem is actually pretty simple. You struggle. tongue

Maybe it's because you don't have enough apps in you dock yet. roll

I loaded those apps into the dock intentionally to make it smaller in size, yet still span the entire window.

Re: What the hell?

You held down some combination of keys and it showed you the code (html) for it. In Chimera, you press apple-e when you are on a page and it shows the code. For Safari, you must have been holding something weird down when you pressed enter or something like that.

That's not just the source; see the HTTP headers at the top?  It's what the server actually sent to the browser, and for some reason Safari just puked it out into the window.  Doesn't anybody remember when Chimera users were having this happen all the time on the old forums?  I'm not sure it it's a Safari problem, or a server-side problem.

TheConfuzed1, is this happening consistently, or just that once?

Re: What the hell?

I noticed that you used Grab to take the screenshot. There are much easier ways to do this, and you can do them in any app.

Screenshot of full screen: command+shift+3
Screenshot of part of the screen: command+shift+4

Jaguar includes a key combo for taking a screenshot of a particular window (ala OS 9), but I forgot the key combo.

Re: What the hell?

I wish that when you took screen shots using the apple-shift-f3 or the apple-shift-f4 method it saved them as somethign besides pdfs...

It has only happened the one time.  I had just posted a message and I clicked the link to go back to Unplugged.  I wasn't pressing any other keys at the time.  I pressed the back button and then clicked the link again, and it worked fine that time.

Yeah, I used Grab.  I used to use the key combo to do the trick, but it's not the same any more.  I didn't realize that there was still a key combo that will take a screenshot.  Oh well...

Hey mods--

I just noticed that this thread has been moved.  Where did you move it to?  I would have posted elsewhere, but I wasn't sure where the most appropriate place would be.  *edit* Nevermind... I see now that it is in Forum Suggestions.  Why Forum Suggestions?  Are you implying that maybe it was an error on your end?

It is in forum suggestions. If you look just above the thread text and just below the nav links you will find:

MacAddict Forums X Forum Index -> Forum Suggestions

[edit]nevermind[/edit]

Anyway, didn't stuff like this happen just before they moved to phpBB. That was with the old server right?

I know, but they should be saved as jpegs first, without the extra step, because jpeg is a *in my opinion* easier to work with format, and it works wiht stuff like img tags.

Re: What the hell?

Yeah, I don't know why Apple changed it. They used to save as jpeg or tiff or something in 10.1.
