MacBook Battery Wierdness
My parents' MacBook started acting strangely. After it's been plugged in for a bit, the battery indicator becomes an X and proclaims: "No batteries available." The battery's in its place just fine and the 'Book is only a couple months old. Unplugging the power cord has no effect on this indicator, nor does plugging it in again; the only way to get it back to normal is to restart the machine. Should I be concerned? And do you have any suggestions to fix the problem?
Thanks!

Re: MacBook Battery Wierdness
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried all three, but unfortunately the problem persists. And if I leave it unplugged it will spontaneously turn off; not sleep as happens with a low battery, but completely off. This has happened with the battery at about 70% as well as about 50%.

Time to call Apple.
A million seconds is 12 days.
A billion seconds is 31 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,688 years.
Hope and change could be forever.

Re: MacBook Battery Wierdness
That is exactly what happened to mine.
Call apple and get it replaced before this happens:

Yeah, this is happening to a lot of macbooks. I just got mine back from compusa after 17 days.
All they have to do is replace the battery. Must be a nice battery to take 17 freaking days.
