Really pathetic spam

This spam really angers me - it can really cause emotional hell for some people.

-=-
Hi, I hate to be the one to mention this, but people
at work are talking about your weight issue and it just
disgusts me. Whether you know it by now, people are
always chattering about each other at work but you come
up more than enough. I feel the right thing to do is to let
you know now before this gets worse. I wasn't the happiest or
best-fit a year ago or so but I managed to change that thanks to
my sister-in-law(of all people). Anyhow, it was for the best.
What I am saying is that you need to do something different
and maybe you can make the same difference I did. Try this
stuff I used. I took it on the idea it's just more junk but
it worked great. I see more positive reviews on it nowadays
and makes me feel even better. So, I am encouraging a change,
not only in the chatter around here but in you personally if
you are willing.

-Anonymous for now
Here is the website below I order from.

(not plugging them)

The company selling the drug is not the company making the drug.
I have sent an e-mail to every news source that has done a story on the drug, and an e-mail to the drug company telling them I sent an e-mail to every news company google found that has ever said anything positive about the drug.

Hopefully this will result in the company selling the drug losing their ability to do so.

No - I'm not overweight - but one of my sisters had some weight issues, and I know how devestating getting an e-mail like this would be to someone who does.

Marketing the benefits of health is one thing, marketing by playing the emotions of someone with a weight issue with a blatant lie is way over the line.

On one hand its morally disturbing, but on the other hand it will probably be amazingly effective.

I told you not to tell anyone!
And if you hadn't gotten me drunk first, it wouldn't have been a problem - I swear.

Re: Really pathetic spam

That sounds like a snail mail thing that was going around 10 or 15 years ago. I got it a few times over the years. It would be an envelop addressed to a specific person and inside was a newspaper ad with a personal note handwritten on the ad. If i recall correctly, the note would say something like "justine, i saw this ad in the paper and thought you could use it". I knew it was junk mail. At the time, i didn't need to lose any weight, so i just laughed and tossed it in the garbage.

Unfortunately, for someone at work, it became another straw on the camels back in a  feud betwween 2 coworkers. The woman that got the mail was overweight, and the other coworker was tormenting her ALL THE TIME. She assumed the tormenter sent it to her until she mentioned it to me, and i told her it was spam of some sort.

Re: Really pathetic spam

We used to get hella junk mail from some porn distributor in Quebec. They sent us a tape full of really horrible stuff from the '70s and maybe even the '60s. Just the most horrifying smurf you can imagine. Fat, hairy, drunk French people trying to smurf with limp dicks and bragging about their softness. The Black midget was kinda funny. The artsy part with the really drunk dude pissing at a garbage barge going by in the canal was disturbing. The shoe stuff just didn't make any sense at all. Obviously it stayed in the VCR for like 4 months, playing at least 3 or 4 hours per day.

This has absolutely nothing to do with weight loss spam/mail.

Re: Really pathetic spam

True, but I'm not sure 6 hours of un-solicited hardcore porn as junk mail is any better from a moral/ethical/good taste perspective. One of my room-mates liked it and I knew better than to mess with his porn but it was still a pretty inappropriate thing to have just appear in the mailbox one day.

Re: Really pathetic spam

That's just rude.  Just like the person that once put a bar of soap into an interoffice envelope and left it on a co-worker's desk, suggesting the person should use it.

no note, no name, blank envelope, and left it late at night so no witnesses.

Jerks.

I was sent unsolicited Hoodia. Got billed for it, too. Bunch of crooks.

In Cal, if it's unsolicited, it's free. No matter what it is.

Oh joy. Free diet pills. Maybe I'll be able to fit into size 00 this summer.

Get on it. By summer the new 00 will be 000.

Re: Really pathetic spam

I would look silly in a 00. Not even my size designator, nor clothes types.

Re: Really pathetic spam

Quite. My point is that it's just sheer bad luck if the advertising rubs the wrong way. In my case, it bordered on the ridiculous.
