Re: iTunes 7.2
I'm gonna wait a while before buying anything on itunes plus. There just aren't enough DRM free songs out there. I upgraded non-the-less.

Re: iTunes 7.2
Well you have to upgrade if you want to use the regular store, I believe.

Re: iTunes 7.2
You normally have to upgrade. At least after a while. You can use the store the same way as you would normally and ignore iTunes Plus altogether - there is a preference in iTunes.
The DRM-less downloads seem to take a while, probably because everyone is upgrading at this point.

Re: iTunes 7.2
I didn't think I'd find anything I wanted, but I like the old Beach Boys music and just got Sounds of Summer, all 30 songs for $12.99 at 256 Kbps AAC non DRM. Plus seems OK to me so far. I use iTunes far more than shopping in a store. I've bought much more music from iTMS than I ever have in a store.
The song type comes up as "Purchased AAC audio". The best part is that the song can be converted from within iTunes to MP3 so it can be used when making MP3 CDs. That couldn't be done before without burning and re-ripping.

Or because the file size should be 2x the regular ones (they're twice the bitrate, right?).

Re: iTunes 7.2
Just wondering, did anyone come across any other changes or updates besides the obvious? Usually they sneak in a little feature upgrade.
Dont worry Mr iMac you will be back, we'll keep the chocolate warm for you.
Gee, you got a Windows box to blue screen? That's inconceivable!
Thank you Macskeeball for my great new avatar!

This is a report from Playlist Magazine. iTunes 7.2 KILLS the burn a protected song and rip into mp3 that is drm free. Apparently the new mp3's won't play on an iPod.

Re: iTunes 7.2
That sounds like a bug as it only is screwing up mp3 or something.

Re: iTunes 7.2
Question: how do I purchase individal songs in the DRM-Free format for .30¢ without having to rebuy my entire purchased catalog?

Re: iTunes 7.2
Sounds like FUD to me but I'll have to wait until my niece shows up with her Nano to test with an iPod though. It seems to work fine in my DVD players with MP3 support though.

Oh well, I can answer my own question. It doesn't.

Here is the fix for the mp3 problem as reported by Macworld...
In short... rebuild the library.

Re: iTunes 7.2
there is probably a simple solution to this... but every time iTunes opens, it requires me to put in my password to check for purchases.. this essentially freezes frontrow when iTunes is not opened already. how do i disable this?
