iTunes ALWAYS asking for username/password! Why?
Why does iTunes 7.2 keep asking for me to put in my iTunes Store username and password EVERY time i start iTunes? It also hangs frontrow when i try to watch movies or listen to music because itunes opens and won't move until i put in the password or hit cancel.
All my music purchased is downloaded. I've tried deauthorizing... ugh.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Samuel

I never had to before...
I guess i just really want to know why iTunes "checks for purchases" every time it's started... and how to disable it.
anywho. i'll consider it.

There should be a checkbox you can mark when iTunes asks for your password.
Are you subscribed to any iTunes podcasts ?

Re: iTunes ALWAYS asking for username/password! Why?
This is a bug in 7.2. I haven't found a cure, although one is suggested over at the Apple Discussions Board:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp … p;#4642408
The workaround is to (with iTunes shut down) remove all the contents, incl. the .plist file of the iTunes Music>Downloads folder (the iTunes Music folder is the default folder that stores all your tunes and shows, the Downloads folder within it is where any unfinished downloads live). This has failed to stop the login request at iTunes boot, for me however, but others on the Board claimed it worked for them.

problem solved. thank you.
the problem will come back, but then I just delete the file and it works correctly for a while.
