My pro mouse's butt.
So I'm looking at the bottom of an Apple Pro mouse here in my school lab. It has a wheelie thing around the optical sensor. I can click the wheel around in three different positions:
- 0 +
What the hell is this thing for? I can't detect any difference with the three settings.

Re: My pro mouse's butt.
I think it's supposed to increase or decrease the click resistance. I don't notice much of a difference either, although I'd love to be able to pop the back off and clean out the lint that's built up in there.

That is indeed a tension wheel.

Because I can see and I can feel, and you can see and you can feel
So why don't we both either stand up and fight
Or at least together we'll call it a night.

It does nothing about decreasing my tension, either.

It used to have a noticeable difference in the first generation of the Pro mice.

I have one; the diff is subtle at best. Maybe it was more pronounced when it was new; I don't remember.

Ooooo, there's an idea: tension-taming mice!
Say, a lickable mouse made of Xanax? And maybe a Rush Limbaugh Signature Edition crafted of real OxyContin? I like it.

It's lickable, clickable, sexy, and if you call right now, we'll throw in a free bottle of OxyContin signed by Rush!

No, but I can sort of see that; have to try it when it gets dark.
How about a Michael Jackson edition pro mouse, filled with your choice of Jesus Juice or Jesus Blood?
