Re: I need a great FTP for OS X. Fetch?

I use Fetch and personally I like it  shrug

That said, is there a way to do chmod in any of the ftp programs? I'd like to learn how to install Greymatter eventually.

You can change chmod (permition) with pretty much most of the ftp server I worked with.
How ever sometimes it could be a little guess work what permition setting equal to the chmod nr....

Re: I need a great FTP for OS X. Fetch?

reviving this very old topic.
been using rbrowser forever now, however since the last update it removes osx line breaks.

any other free alternative? I like to have the ability to edit "live" in bbedit.

thanks Danny

Re: I need a great FTP for OS X. Fetch?

If you're transferring files to a *nix webserver, it shouldn't be an issue, since most OS X applications use "Unix-style" linebreaks.  But try futzing around with your FTP application's transfer settings, "Text" vs "Binary".

You should be using SFTP anyway, so give MacFUSE + sshfs a try.

Me like transmit.  Not free, but cheap and does everything.

I use Fetch and it was free for me because I'm a student.  I like it.

I just tried it and I like it a lot.
Dual-pane, like ForkLift, only it's free.

Previously, I used Interarchy, which I really don't care for for FTP, and FileZilla, which works well but has a clunky interface.
