Issues with joining a japlus server on mac.
Hi there;
I was hoping you could help me seeing how this is more or less my "last resort" to getting this mod to work on my macbook.
I've installed the 2.4beta 3 package of the mod, following the guidelines are carefully as possible. Everything is right where it should belong, and I can load the mod just fine when I run the game.
The problem is; even though I've got the mod running and installed just fine, I still can't log in to servers running the mod. They keep asking me for the japlus_sabers.pk3 file amongst others even though I've got that file exactly where it should be (in the japlus folder under my Jedi Academy folder).
It seems it keeps telling me I don't have the files even though I think I do. I figured downloading the very most recent version would do, but .. no such luck.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks on advance for your help, I appreciate it a lot.

Re: Issues with joining a japlus server on mac.
perhaps try to disable autodownload in your client menu interface...
or type something like
/seta cl_autodownload 0
Notation : At the moment JA+ only works with MAC OS X Panther using the JKA MAC PAtch 1.01D
I am at the moment porting JA+ to tiger os X with JKA MAC Patch 1.01E which is going to work with both PCC and Intel architecture thanks to the Universal Binary thing...
on which OS are you playing?
If you want more discussion about that , i suggest you to come here to find the last patchs about JA+

Re: Issues with joining a japlus server on mac.
Slider,
Indeed turning off autodownload would seem logical. However, whenever I do that the game doesn't tell me "this or that file couldn't be downloaded", it simply shuts down entirely and brings me back to my desktop. I'm not sure if this is related to the mod or not (methinks it isn't) but sadly turning off autodownload isn't an option, it seems. The seta cl_autodownload 0 doesn't seem to do anything either.
I do use the most recent patch but, and this might be the reason why things arn't working: I am using Tiger and not Panther.. Which leads me to believe it might be an osx version issue alltogether. I didn't notice it only worked on Panther, my mistake!
However it's really fantastic to hear you're working on a port for Tiger that'll work on an intel-based mac. That's exactly what I'm looking for and I'd be incredibly grateful if that ever came to happen.
Would you rather have me register and follow up the discussion on the lucasforums thread then instead of here?
Thanks a lot for your reply!

Re: Issues with joining a japlus server on mac.
yes because the porting discussion in in the lucasforum thread
you will have a link there to download my JA+ plugin 1.4beta3 Mac Patch that works with JKA Patch 1.01E
For your autodownload pb i think that a JKA MAC Issue because it works on PC...
SO i guess Aspyr added some bug in their pathches
THe PC JA+ Plugin is able to download needed resources from HTTP or FTP at a very fast speed...
it replaces when available the default autodownload thing...
Unhappyly i never ported this feature on the MAC version of the JA+ Plugin...
