CSS Validation

Okay, so when I try to validate my CSS using the W3 validation service I sometimes get a simple list of the "valid CSS" and sometimes I get the page that says "Congratulations! No error found."

It often happens with the same page with no changes made.

What's up with that?

Re: CSS Validation

I've experience the same thing; but for me, I only got the list of valid CSS at the end of a list of any errors in the code. So, when you get that list - is it being preceded by any errors? It doesn't sound like it, but I thought I'd ask.

I mostly use CSSEdit anymore, which has a built in validator. I've not validated any CSS at the W3 site for months - maybe it's getting wonky.

Re: CSS Validation

I too am suffering the same issues. HTML Validator plug in for firefox is good for CSS/HTML validation. combined with web developer toolbar and its all squared up. of course knowing the CSS spec inside out also helps tongue

Re: CSS Validation

Does anyone know a good link to for listing all the valid CSS markup?  I have one, but I think it may be out of date.

All I know is every time I need to do something to our company website (like a re-design, re-brand currently) I want to find the developers of IE (6 and lower) and smack the smurf out of them. Worst non-compliant *cough* modern *cough* browser there is IMO.  Our IT department will not install IE7, probably because MS made it more compliant, so all those haxies for IE6 don't work.

This might help.

Re: CSS Validation

this is a little easier to get around than W3Schools - not to say that W3Schools isn't a good reference, in fact, it rocks!
