Talent Points

I'm a level 52 blood elf warlock and have my talent points divided more or less equally between Affliction, Demonology and Destruction.  My rationale is that I am choosing those points that enhance what I am best at.  My kids say that I'm crazy for not putting all of my points in one talent line.  Should I switch to one talent line or keep picking between the three? What's best?

Re: Talent Points

In the end it doesn't really matter really. Anyway, the more powerful talents are at the bottom of the tree so if you put points in every tree you can't get the more powerful talents.

Re: Talent Points

I suggest going mostly affliction and splitting the balance of your training points equally in the other two trees.  The unstable (high level) versions can't be cleansed by priests or paladins.  They are left in reaction mode, healing the damage, until they wear off.  A good offense . . .

Re: Talent Points

Well they can, they just get hit for some damage and get silenced.

Re: Talent Points

In the beginning I did this too with my mage. It's good in making a "Jack of all trades, master of none". Then I got in to the high forties and saw that there was some kick ass stuff lower in the trees that I could get to but had to pick one to dump all the points in.

After reading a ton on Arc., Fire & Frost it just confused me more. So I retrained 3 times, spent a week with each and loved fire the most. To me fire made the game more fun and fit me as a person better.

You can read all you want and get all kinds of suggestions but in the end it's your toon play it as you see fit.

Re: Talent Points

70 Warlock here. I was hybrid spec for awhile, liked it a lot. My reasons involved pets getting unsummoned when you fly, which isn't an issue now, but it was still an interesting setup. That said, my opinion is you go full demon while you level, spend the rest in affliction. Your leveling will be fast and efficient.

At 70 the hybrid spec is doable, I rocked the damage meters (I'm in a big guild on a busy server).

Once I finished full frozen shadowweave armor set, I moved to full afflic, with destro for the surplus points, because UA is now way better than immo for me (with all the shadow bonuses). I literally do ONLY shadow damage, unless someone/something is immune.
