Looking for a Vent headset

Hey, I'm looking to buy a headset for Vent in WoW and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.  Any ones that seem to work well, or good deals, or any advice/input at all actually.

i use this one from logitech. it works very well. the speakers seem to be made for voice communication, as they dont handle music very well.

Re: Looking for a Vent headset

I just purchased a vent package for my guild and made sure to go with a company that supports by default the Speex codec so members like myself with Macs, can use the Vent server. I'm not sure if it's my line-in port on my PowerMac G5 that is having issues, but I can't seem to use the mic on my headset. It works fine on my pc laptop (blech) which is how I've been using Vent for the past couple of years.

I am wondering if the USB headsets out there will work with my Mac? Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Looking for a Vent headset

Check the signal levels from your headset.  If the headset is putting out a mic level signal and the Mac is expecting a line level signal you won't hear anything unless you crank the volume up to full and yell into the mic.  There are amplifiers for mic level to line level is you determine you need that.  Look at the normal accessories vendors like Belkin.  An iMic is a one option.

Re: Looking for a Vent headset

Most USB Headsets will work with a Mac and Vent just fine. Just make sure to swap that Audio input and output around as needed.
