Re: Hosting webpage on my Mac: Help!

Now go get a domain name from register.com or godaddy so my head doesn't scream "PHISHING ALERT!" every time I see the link in your sig. wink

What he said...
Doing what you are doing is not really an achievement. A decent domain name and host is cheap, efficient and obvious.

Traffic is already logged.

Look in /var/log/httpd.

Re: Hosting webpage on my Mac: Help!

Most hosts will include traffic logs with fancy graphs and stats etc. Google also has a free analytics service. Some hosts have a fancy C Panel system that allows all kinds of cool functionality. All this on a reliable secure server for around the price of a cheap sixpack per month. Its a no-brainer...

This is just one host I've been looking at for my website.  There are certainly others.  I found this one very reasonable and it's designed with Mac users in mind.

Re: Hosting webpage on my Mac: Help!

Hmmm,

I would keep looking. The fees for hosting a basic site for $14.95 per month?

Try searching for popular hosts. I like to keep my domain registrars and web hosts separate. I have a new site with Hostgator which seemed like a decent deal for instance.

As to looking for a host that is "designed with Mac users in mind" it really doesn't matter: its the internet. You should build the site with clean accessible code so that all operating systems and browser combinations will be able to view your site in a equal stable fashion...
