PS3 "basic" versus PS3 "extended"

Is there any use is spending the extra money on the "Deluxe" CS3 deal to get the Photoshop Extended?

Here's a comparison page for you to see if the extended features are worth the extra $$:

Hey! My favorite Wombat! Yea I like to grace you all with my presence from time to time. Busy as smurf lately, work fulltime 60+ hours then I go home and run my own business (into the ground hah)

Droo, I did check that out and that's really why I asked. I wanted "real world 'sperience"

My boss is having a COW about the price so I might go with one Deluxe and one Reg'lar.

One has rudimentary support for 3D modeling, motion graphics, and medical imaging... the other doesn't.

That's it in a nutshell shrug

Yeah, if you don't do 3D or motion, then don't even fret over the deluxe.

Is it something that would be useful to learn before we go out and start smurfing around with AfterEffects and all? I do want to learn 3D for our TV stuff

Then probably like you said, one of each... I fully support getting an "education" subsidized by work. wink

Re: PS3 "basic" versus PS3 "extended"

Yes I am really looking forward to Newtek's Rendition (if they ever release it) which looks to be really cool, being able to load Lightwave objects into PS and render them.

I came from PS7, so I was happy enough just to have non-square pixel support.  There is also some cool batch processing stuff, which I assume was in Image Ready, which they no longer sell, which means all of that was probably rolled into PS Extended.

32bit per channel color support is nice also.
