mac os x upgrade coming in october??
there is a new mac os x leopard...and i just bought my macbook a couple weeks ago and now there is a new upgrade!! wtf!!

It's just software, and it has been known about since January. Once it's released you can get it from the Apple Store and install it on your new MacBook and you'll be as up-to-date as the rest of them.
In fact, your MacBook may have came with coupons for the Mac OS Up-to-Date program, which will allow you to get Leopard for a significant discount.

how is it that you didn't know that before you bought your machine? did you do any research before making your purchase?

Hey, nothing wrong with impulse Apple buys right? I almost buy an iMac every time I go into the Apple store (even though my Macbook Pro I'm typing on is barely a year old), although I've held out so far.

It's not exactly something Apple shouts from the rooftops. People who walk into a store expecting to buy a computer are unlikely to be aware of Mac news. You don't have to be a jerk about it.

maybe you're right. maybe they aren't shouting it from the roof tops, but they aren't exactly hiding it either. two clicks on apple's website and you reading about leopard coming out in october.

At the same time though, the Macbook's most likely will not be upgraded by then. It could be worth Leopard's price to have the Macbook a couple months earlier.
