H3 ist der Golden

Official. Thread in Games, but as usual, Clan-specific stuff can be here.

Pre-ordered my legendary edition yesterday. I tried stopping by bungie studios two days ago too, but security is rather tight. big_smile

Re: H3 ist der Golden

I was checking stuff the other day and realized that I'm starting fall quarter at my school about two days after the game's release.

I may not get sleep for those days in between.

Reserved my Legendary in March. Haven't seen the RRD but of course you know when it will happen.

Re: H3 ist der Golden

Sure. 1st time after the shrink wrap comes off. smile

Got my repair box but not in time to make UPS Friday. Gonna be real close, real iffy about which gets here first, the refurbed Box or 9/25.

MS rep indicated it was likely based on description I'd not get my original back, but a rebuild with the newish heatsinks. I'm hoping for the newest available parts but not expecting 65nm CPU and HDMI would be nice smile, and apparently the 65nm GPUs aren't even in the mix yet, even in production, and they're the biggest troublemakers. I was advised that since this was my second repair, I'd only get a one year warranty extension, and further strongly urged to buy the extended warranty before next April (original manufactured April '06). I think they know that even these revised jobs will die prematurely, until both CPU and GPU are 65nm.

I'm starting to think the only way to get a "normal" service life from these is to void the warranty, open 'em up and do something like watercooling. I may lay mine flat & strap a couple of 92->60mm fan adapters on the sides opposite the cooling exhaust fans... maybe 80-100cfm cool air forced in might preserve things. Seems like a lot of clumsy, tedious trouble to go to with a 'small, self-contained home entertainment center.' roll

(Oh, did I mention mine died mobo first, taking out the hard drive with all my unique stuff like the 7/7/07-only Bungie stuff? Gotta UPS that back separately at my own expense. They want my goodwill/word of mouth, they better send me back a 120GB unit free. Always network a 360 to a PC and manually back up the HDD if possible).

I'm starting to envision the 360 as something designed by Gravemind, built by Flood, and probably each containing an Infection Form. I ever meet the engineers, I'll be packing my Energy Sword.

Grr.

I never had the chance to see the bungie day content. was it good? I tried emailing and calling, but got nowhere. It's sad that the goal of customer service is to outlast you until you give up.

Re: H3 ist der Golden

Thinking some major H3 clan action once game comes around.  Haven't touched H2 in a long time, and Halo: CE in even longer.  I miss the old days of superweapons at blood gulch and the map rotation getting stuck at hang 'em high.  Currently all gaming time is on the Call of Duty 4 beta, but once Halo 3 is out, I will definitely be up to some nights of mass pwnage with whoever I can round up.

Re: H3 ist der Golden

I will soon be all over both earlier games due to sheer withdrawal; upgrade PC 98% done. I'll be there just tooling around the MP maps for old times' sake alone if need be, and for as long as time allows. Lack of hardware's kept me off 18 months and I'm hungry for Halo.

AR, you're thinking of the Overpower mod we had. I'd love me some OP action.

H2V, then H3 online when my 360 comes back from the shop, but I expect I'll concentrate on Co-op at first. But if Clan/friend matches are set up, I'll be there too.

Clan/friend stuff as well as co-op over live.  Messing around in Forge MP sounds like it will be a fun laid back time.

Re: H3 ist der Golden

It would've been, some might still be. I can't promise more just now, as I'm very down about the imminent dissolution of these individual Clan rooms.

It's been very rapid, so take one last look around for old times' sake. It won't be long now, apparently.

Individual threads will live on in the one big, happy(?) [MA] Forum. If you can find them. neutral

Re: H3 ist der Golden

With that trauma averted, I'll take this opportunity to [s]beg[/s] request Team Bat hold off on Co-op until I get there. I only got the 'Box to UPS today, so I'll miss the launch. sad

I wish I could remember better. It seemed good enough, unique icons/avatars and such, marking you as a 777er.
