iPod's new GUI--what's the story?
Hi all,
Does anyone have pics of the newest iPod in action with the new GUI? What does the GUI look like?
PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz/1GB RAM/OS/X (10.4.11)

Re: iPod's new GUI--what's the story?
i can take some pics tomorrow maybe, but basically here are the differences:
1) the screen is split in a rather annoying fashion on the main menu and the music menu
2) when listing albums, it lists each album in a rectangle with the name, number of songs or artists (depending on what view you're in), and album art. similarly for playlists it lists the number of songs.
3) each song on a playlist is also shown in a small rectangle, with the song name and artist name
4) the options that cycle when you press the center button while a song is playing: fast forward/rewind (changes play head to a diamond), rate, shuffle (off, songs, or albums)
5) various UI element cleanups: they changed the font, battery symbol, etc to more closely match the UI of the iPhone and touch
6) settings menu: many settings are selected using the split-screen. this is about the only time when the split screen effect is useful and not annoying.
