The town had zoning laws saying that power generators could only be installed on the ground floor. The code considered solar panels to be power generators. Under pressure from Gore, the code was changed, so not only did he install solar panels, but he is also installing geothermal heating, more efficient insulation and windows, and a rainwater collection and irrigation system.
So I guess you don't know jack smurf about what you're attacking. How very surprising.

I've always liked geothermal but the payback just didn't really work for me when it was time to get new furnaces/central airs.
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Great. Solar panels. My parents had those in 1985. What about the $1000+ monthly gas bill? No such thing as solar gas. Last time I checked, no solar powered private jets either. And don't come back with "carbon credits" because that's biggest scam since the Pope sold indulgences. If he really wants us ALL to change he should live in a smaller house and save as much energy as possible.

The fact is that he is asking americans to sacrifice - and then flies around in a private jet between destinations for which commercial flights have plenty of seating available, even in the first class section if the common folk aren't good enough to fly with.
That is extremely hypocritical.
Sure - he justifies it with "carbon credits" - but that's a load of croc, he still is responsible for volumes of green house gases that did not need to be exhausted by that jet.

Would you expect a Presidential candidate to run from his home state without getting out to meet the voters?
It's a simple fact that seeing someone in person has a greater impact than seeing someone on television or watching them on YouTube.
jdbaum points fingers about how Gore is wasteful without paying attention to the fact that if he succeeds in convincing the world to move toward clean power, he will have offset his own travel millions of times over.
jdbaum says that Gore is wasteful of energy, ignoring that his entire family drives hybrid cars, that the Gore household pays extra for energy from renewable sources, that the Gore family has more people living in the home than the average household, and that Al and Tipper use their home both for work and for offices.
jdbaum uses ad hominem attacks and doesn't consider any arguments which go against the position he's already set his mind on. He's not adding anything to this discussion.

It's also a simple fact that Gore uses his private jet when a commercial airliner with room already makes the same trip and has space - that Gore could use and still get to the speaking engangements (or whatever he's doing) on time.

Sorry, if Gore isn't expected to live as he preaches then nobody else should be either.

btw - I don't mind Gore using his jet.
But when he uses it as he does after talking the talk he talks - it is 100% hypocritical.

And it's yet another simple fact that Gore is a prominent and controversial public figure and that security on a commercial airliner is incredibly difficult to maintain versus security on a private plane.

Show me a Republican in a public bathroom trying to have gay sex to prevent others from ever having gay sex again.
Show me a religious official embezzling money to prevent others from embezzling money or a Catholic priest molesting children to prevent everyone else from molesting children in the future.
Sure, that's the same thing.

LOUD NOISES !!
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
