Get rid of the ignore feature!
Some people in MFT are using them to squash dissent and ignore everyone they disagree with and/or are intellectually incapable of responding to. It certainly doesn't make for good debate when one person's talking and some close-minded fool is covering his ears and saying "la la la, I can't hear you".

They could ignore you the old fashioned way anyway if they really wanted to, by just not responding. The ignore feature merely makes it easier for those that are easily irritated and weak willed.

Isn't that pretty much what happens anyway?

My thoughts exactly.

Re: Get rid of the ignore feature!
The only person who would be against the ignore feature is a troll.
Or someone who is so closed-minded they refuse to accept others' views or change their own in light of good evidence, and they spew the same crap over and over as a result... not referring to anyone specifically though...

Re: Get rid of the ignore feature!
If someone is ignoring you, how would you know? Does it tell you or something? And if they are truly ignoring you, then just think of it this way: They are not open-minded, and any debate with them would be fruitless anyway.

Yup, that's me.
Actually, I suggested it because I thought that it might improve the quality of the threads. I've seen too many threads get sidetracked by trollery. If we could block out posts by those who have nothing to offer but rudeness, we might be able to carry on a real discussion despite them.
I was also getting tired of seeing good threads closed because some clowns hijacked it and turned it into an exchange of insults.
Hey!!! Was that Pithy? Got a twenty?

Er.. are you implying that I'm what you describe? Because I'm not ignoring anyone.
