quick NWN question
In order to experience the variety of addons for neverwinter, do I need to seek out Mac versions of the expansion packs, or will the winblows ones work?

Re: quick NWN question
Windows versions will work, you have to copy files from the CD into correct folders, i dont think they ever made Mac versions of Shadows and Hordes.
Apparently they have released Mac Versions. Been over 2 years since i last played my mistake.. But directions are below
It's been a while since I used the PC versions to install (not since 1.62), but if I was going to do it again now, here is what I would try (note that I have not tested this; someone will no doubt soon point out something I've missed ).
The first part is getting the files from the expansion CD's copied over (this part is nearly identical to the 1.62 manual install instructions... Platinum should be similar but I haven't got it so can't confirm all the files are the same):
1. Install Mac NWN.
2. Copy files from SoU CD (or NWN Gold Disc 1 or NWN Platinum CD 4):
2a. Copy "Data_Shared.zip", "Language_data.zip" and "Language_update.zip" to your hard drive. Double-click the files to unzip them. Double-click the resulting ".tar" files to untar them into three folders (this may happen automatically).
2b. In the "Data_Shared", "Language_data", and "Language_update" folders, you will see some files and some folders. Copy the files to your NWN folder, and copy the contents of the folders to the folders with the same name in your NWN folder.
3. Copy files from HotU CD (or NWN Platinum CD 1):
3a. As for 2a, except ignore the "Language_update.zip" file.
3b. As for 2b, except there will not be a "Language_update" folder.
4. Restart your Mac.
Part 2 is simply installing all the Mac 1.64 updates, starting with the plain Mac NWN 1.64 patch, then the Mac SoU 1.64 patch, then the Mac HotU 1.64 patch. (Installing all of them may be overkill; I'm just trying to be conservative.)
I'm going on the theory that as of 1.64 the Linux updates are no longer needed. However, there's a fair chance that they might still be needed (because the Mac expansions shipped as version 1.62, whereas PC SoU shipped as 1.30 and HotU as 1.60 I think... if something got patched between those versions and 1.62 which isn't included in the Mac 1.64 patch, then this will break). So if the above instructions don't work, then Part 2 becomes installing the Linux SoU and HotU 1.64 patches, and the original Part 2 becomes Part 3. Still, it might be worth trying it without the Linux patches first, just to see.
