CPU Intensive apps and Folding
Ok, after some fooling around they are both folding in between render sessions. I am afraid that neither of the Quads are Macs so OS X is not a legit operating system option for them. One is running Ubuntu with the SMP Client and doing well, the other is using 64 Bit Vista and is using only the single threaded folding application due to issues with the SMP version. (these machines are for work, a Mac pro just wasn't an option at this time
)
If I can't fix it I'll put together a thread for others who may have found themselves in the same funk. Till then I look forward to see what these monsters can do.

We're looking forward to that thread.
We'll crosspost it over at the main Folding forums.
I've heard from Team members, such as Belloq, that Folding slows down some of these CPU-intensive apps. Can you confirm that ?

Yep. Certain apps aren't usable when I'm folding.

I have run into system lock-ups using AfterEffects CS3 if F@H is running, Cinema 4D and Sorenson are not much better. Photoshop and Lightroom run just fine though even when processing a few thousand RAW images.
