Stanford previews new GUI
http://www.beyond3d.com/content/news/524
Professor Vijay Pande, director of Stanford's Folding@home project, has blogged that his team is demoing a new GUI and new GPU client at SuperComputing 2007. The new GUI is very fetching indeed, and no doubt will be welcome by those who like a little pret-tay with their world-saving.
Pande reports that the new GPU core "is looking particularly nice scientifically" but declines to provide an exact ETA for public release, other than "soon as possible". ATI/AMD's software team comes in for some special loving notice for their assistance.
Meanwhile, as close observers of some forum sigs might notice, many members of Folding Nation still look longingly towards Santa Clara for some GeForce-flavored lovin'. Stanford's Mike Houston reported recently on our forums that slow progress is being made, but it does not appear any announcements are imminent.
Coming for Mac, but don't hold your breath.

Meanwhile you might like to look into this. AMD/ATi's new videocards based on the RV670 chip should run the GPU client like nothing before it. The V stands for value, and the 'high-end' Radeon HD 3870 card should MSRP around $200-225.
Launching today.

Selling for $179 and $219.
I'd hoped for more interest, as these are the first GPUs to do double-precison FP calculations. Calculation rate approaches 0.5 TFLOPs with the pricier model.

Re: Stanford previews new GUI
Thanks for the info. If I appear to be not interested, trust me, that is not the case.
I just am not sure what to do with the info in the short term.
