Looking for a Digital Camera Forum
Hi,
My father wants to get into digital photography, and we need a comprehensive forum site that will answers all kinds of digital camera, reviews and related questions for someone new to digital. He was a professional photographer in the 80's.
Any suggestions?

There are alot of forum sites out there. Do a google search. It would depend on what you or your father like meaning the easiest to navigate throw the easiest to read what type of photography and so on.

Flickr isn't bad either.
I think for your father it would help him in his post-processing.
What did he or you have in mind?
Actually taking the picture is still the same for the most part ISO settings exposure and White Balance.

This is a Canon specific forum that I like to frequent. Not much about Point and Shoot, but if he's getting a Canon SLR its a nice resource.

DPreview.com has some excellent info in their forums even, though the setup is cluttered and hard to navigate.

If you go with Nikon, you can use Nikonians, one of the best online communities going. There are loads of experts and tech types who can help you with virtually anything Nikon related.
I like the DC Resource forums... but havent been there a lot lately so they might have gone to hell
