Need a Good Script Editor

I am learning to script for a new game and need to find a good editor.  I would like to find a free editor as money is tight.  I can upgrade once I get paid for my work.  That could take a while as I know nothing about scripting, so I have to learn from scratch.

I do like BBEdit, but it's too much right now (at least from the site I visited)  Suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Need a Good Script Editor

TextWrangler is basically a free version of BBEdit w/o the plugin support system.

Re: Need a Good Script Editor

TextWrangler is good, but I prefer Smultron; it's free and has syntax highlighting (even for R, major ++).
