LaserJet 1020?
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a HP LaserJet 1020 on the Mac? According to the specs, the printer's not Mac-compatible, but I've been told (by a salesman at the campus store) that it will work fine with the 1022 drivers. Is that true, does anyone have any positive experience in that regard? (I'm really looking into that particular printer because there is a really good sale right now at Future Shop, a Best Buy-owned Canadian store, 129$ CDN instead of 229$.)

My HP LaserJet 1200se worked great under OS X without any drivers if that helps.

Re: LaserJet 1020?
Yes, I'm running into problems myself with the HP LaserJet 1020. I've tried downloading a variety of drivers and while it recognizes the Printer, I cannot get it to print. I've tried different USB cables, etc. Nothing. Drag since I recently purchased the printer for my office (when I was using a PC). Wouldn't recommend you purchasing this particular printer for a Mac...I wish I knew sooner myself. Let me know if you find a way...

Re: LaserJet 1020?
My ex had the HP 1020, and I used it under Tiger with no issues. I seem to remember using drivers from a different HP printer though.
Anyway, the girlfriend is gone and so is the printer... (so I can't check which drivers I used)
I have a new printer now, Lexmark e120n, it's sweet and cheaper than the HP 1020. I also have a new girlfriend, but there's no way I'm taking that comparison further.
Anyway, just return it if it doesn't work out.

Network printers ftw. (much less likelyhood of driver problems.)

Re: LaserJet 1020?
Yeah I've been running a 1020 for a couple of months now without any problems. It took a little bit of fiddling with it to get it to work, but after checking out this forum thread I got it to work with no problems.
