I wish that I pass prelims in January, please god please! (selfish one)

Re: Christmass wish list not granted... yet!

I'd like a 13th month in 2007. I could use about 4 more weeks between now and my deadline at the end of January. End world hunger is a good one too.

Heck, I'd be happy if we ended hunger in our own freakin' country!

I considered that, but it seems a bit ridiculous to be wishing for that already. Another 28 years...

Re: Christmass wish list not granted... yet!

I want a gift-less Christmas.
Christmas should be more like a week long Thanksgiving. Getting together with loved ones, catching up with old times. Eating, sleeping, eating again.
It's the gift giving that has ruined it for me. I know there are people who think Christmas is all about the gifts. Giving the best one, getting the best one.
But the whole shopping thing is what ruins it for me.
Maybe if I felt like I had enough money to get anything anybody wanted I wouldn't feel like I'm being torn apart by vultures every time i go into a store, but i don't, so I do.
Maybe it's my inner Scrooge showing, but I think people spend too much on useless, needless, Christmas gifts. I would be happy to forgo my Christmas bonus if I didn't have to turn around and spend it on stupid things to give to people who don't want them anyway.
Each year my family listens to this same rant. I demand an end to thoughtless spending. I demand the use of common sense. I demand limits.
What I get is, http://homepage.mac.com/oatmeal/MAF/maxes/ignore.gif
Perhaps if there were some rules. Perhaps if custom said you should only give gifts to your immediate family, and the amount had to be limited to what you could put in a sock! Hell between iPods and cellphones and digital cameras and ect. you could easily put several hundred dollars into a sock these days, but at least you wouldn't feel like you had to have a big pile of boxes under the tree; or , the biggest pile of boxes.
So, i guess what I want, besides peace on earth and goodwill toward men, is a Christmas that doesn't put me in an economic tailspin that it will take me until August to straighten out , just in time to go into another one.
Don't worry. I'll start my Christmas morning with a couple shots of Knob Creek or Gentleman Jack, so I won't be a grinch and ruin everybodys fun, but I'll feel like somebody is riding on my back for months to come.

Thank you for allowing me to vent. As I said, nobody at my house wants to listen to this smurf.
That's what you guys are for. smile

Merry Christmas!

Me has no mortgage.

Me hopes to see ultra-thin hard drive-less Macbook released in a couple of weeks. Me plans to buy, even though me can't really afford!
